A cat lover has said she loves her cat and would “love to live on the other side of the planet” if she could.
A cat lover told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme she was “really lucky” to have her pet, Catnip, for two years, and has now adopted him after years of separation.
Catnip’s owner, Julie, said she could never imagine living in another country and was looking forward to her new life on the UK mainland.
“I have lived in Europe for two and a half years, but I have been so far away from my cat, he is a part of my life now,” Julie said.
“We have had a really nice relationship, we’ve had a fantastic life together and I really love my Catnips and I love to spend time with him.”
Julie said her cat was “not a pet”, but had become a “really special person” for her.
“He’s a real good dog, he loves to sit on the sofa and watch TV,” she said.
Julie added that she was now planning to leave the UK for Europe and move into a house in London.
She said she would be happy to live in the US if she were given the opportunity.
“It would be a beautiful country for me to live,” Julie told Today.
Julie and Catnipped are currently staying with Julie’s family in California.
